Women We Admire is pleased to announce The Top 100 Women Leaders of Tampa for 2022. This city, full of rich history and diversity, has had women leading its progress since its very early days. Much like this year’s awardees, Tampa’s historical women were innovative, equality-focused and driven by the desire for change. Clara Frye, a nurse who relocated to Tampa 1901, spent 15 years treating patients of color in her home before purchasing a building on her street and turning it into a hospital for individuals of any race or income level. Many years later, Adela Hernandez Gonzmart, the founder and owner of Florida’s oldest restaurant, was also a tireless advocate for the citizens of Tampa. One of her more notable successes was co-founding the Latino Scholarship Fund at the University of South Florida, which assists academically excellent but financially challenged students.

This year's awardees have continued in their footsteps leading companies and driving change across nearly all industries including educational technology, healthcare, insurance and financial services, retail, media and more. They continue to break barriers into new territories that will allow those who follow after them to lead successful and meaningful careers.
