The unanticipated circumstances brought upon by the pandemic has had a vast impact on the sector, from project developments to building management. This year’s awardees have knowledge and dedication that is invaluable to their clients. They serve individuals, large corporations, nonprofits, individual investors and more, all with an unmatched expertise.

Among this year’s awardees is Marcia Lockman, Executive Vice President with CBRE, who along with her team, has delivered verifiable savings of $150 million to their real estate portfolio clients over the past 11 years. Awardee Louise Matthews, Vice President of Global Real Estate for Bacardi, is responsible for strategic planning, transaction and asset management of the family-owned company’s real estate portfolio of 150-plus locations. Also awarded is Jill Lovatt, First Vice President of Retail Leasing for Cushman & Wakefield, who has closed over 75 retail lease listings representing property owners on Manhattan's Upper East Side, with an aggregate lease rental value of over $200 million.

1. Jeri Ballard
EVP of Real Estate, Business Service Centres & Corporate Travel, Shell

Jeri Ballard is an innovative business leader with a proven record of success in commercial activities including real estate, facilities management, and supply chain management. She is currently the Executive Vice President of Real Estate, Business Operations Centers, and Corporate Travel and is responsible for leading a team that delivers the non-hydrocarbon physical infrastructure to Shell businesses in 40+ countries. This includes land assembly, offices, housing, worker accommodations, construction and facilities management. In addition, her team manages one of the world’s largest in-house business service center networks (20,000+ staff) and one of the largest corporate travel programs. She is a results-oriented leader with strategic vision and the ability to plan, organize, resource, develop, motivate and direct an organization to achieve change.

Ballard began her career with Westinghouse Electric and has held management positions with Asea Brown Boveri and Dynegy Inc, where she was the senior director of global facilities management before joining Shell in 2004. She has served on the board of Shell entities including being the chairperson of the board for Triton Diagnostics. She has been active in a number of industry and civic organizations including the Houston Downtown Management District where she was on the board of directors and chair of the Operations Committee. Ballard received her undergraduate degree in transportation logistics and aviation management from The Ohio State University and an MBA in international finance from the University of Connecticut.

2. Marcia Lockman
Executive Vice President, CBRE

A member of CBRE's Global Workplace Solutions Group, Marcia Lockman has over 30 years of commercial real estate experience working with Fortune 1000 companies and professional service firms. During this time, Lockman has managed global portfolios ranging in size from 2 million to 13 million square feet, representing 1,077 corporate locations and managed over 1,100 assignments in more than 170 worldwide markets totaling 23.1 million square feet. In the past 11 years, she and her team have delivered actual, verifiable savings of $149.1 million to their real estate portfolio clients. She is involved in corporate initiatives to develop transaction management processes, playbooks and systems, and in the operational review of key corporate accounts. Lockman specializes in global real estate portfolio management and Twin Cities occupier representation.

Before joining CBRE, Lockman was an SVP at Trammell Crow Company. She graduated from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management with an MBA, ​​from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with an MA in urban affairs, and from Miami University with an undergraduate degree in urban studies.

5. Jill Lovatt
First Vice President of Retail Leasing, Cushman & Wakefield

Jill Lovatt joined Cushman & Wakefield via the acquisition of Massey Knakal Realty Services at the end of 2014. She currently serves as the First Vice President of Retail Leasing. Lovatt is a specialist in the leasing of retail spaces, gallery spaces and medical offices throughout Manhattan, New York City, representing both tenants and landlords, and has a special level of expertise regarding the Upper East Side. She is an expert regarding the luxury retail areas of Madison Avenue. Since joining Massey Knakal in 2011, Lovatt, who is a licensed real estate broker, has closed over 75 retail lease listings representing property owners on Manhattan's Upper East Side, with an aggregate lease rental value of over $200 million.

As a resident of the Upper East Side, Lovatt is an active member of REBNY, the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, Second Avenue Business Alliance, CIVITAS, and Friends of the Upper East Side. Prior to joining Massey Knakal, she was the president of Complete Appraisal Services, a firm she founded in Southern California. The firm grossed over $1.3 million in the first year. She worked with all major lenders operating in the greater Southern California area and eventually grew to become one of the leading appraisal firms in Southern California. Additionally, she has extensive corporate experience and was previously a manager of corporate accounting at Rockwell International and held the role of senior analyst in the Petrochemicals Division of British Petroleum North America. Lovatt graduated from Miami University with an undergraduate degree and attended The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania.

7. Mindy Korth
EVP of Investment Properties Sales Brokerage, Colliers-International

As Executive Vice President of Investment Properties Sales Brokerage, Mindy Korth is accomplished in all sectors of the investment real estate community including office, medical office, retail, industrial, commercial land and unique projects across metropolitan Phoenix. Korth spends her time identifying investment opportunities, executing client strategy, establishing relationships between parties and coordinating property financial analysis and due diligence. Her wealth of industry, market, property and financial intelligence provides clients with the information they need to make informed decisions and successful investment transactions. She has closed more than 25 million square feet totaling more than $3 billion in value.

Korth first got her start in 1980 as a senior accountant at Deloitte. From there, she went on to Trammell Crow Company, before eventually rising to become an EVP of investment properties at CBRE - Capital Markets, her most recent position prior to joining Colliers-International. Korth graduated from Arizona State University with an undergraduate degree in business administration.

8. Amy MacLaren
Vice President, CBRE

Amy MacLaren is a Vice President within CBRE’s Retail Advisory & Transaction Services Group, bringing more than 25 years of experience with project leasing for owners and developers of landmark urban retail destinations around the country. MacLaren is an expert in the development and implementation of retail leasing strategies, performing market analysis and conducting lease negotiations to secure the best possible tenants for her client’s properties. Her extensive knowledge and experience, combined with CBRE’s global platform of market data, retailer relationships and technology, helps her generate significant value for her clients and help them make informed, strategic real estate decisions.

MacLaren's proven track record includes the redevelopment and repositioning of the Dallas Galleria, Water Tower Place in Chicago, and, most recently, the redevelopment of AT&T's Discovery District in Dallas, transforming its global headquarters into a premier campus that incorporates food & beverage, community engagement and entertainment spaces. MacLaren is also involved in the leasing of lifestyle and mixed-use projects in the Southeast area, providing valuable counsel on ground-up leasing and re-merchandising efforts to recruit relevant and high-performing retail brands to her clients' properties. Prior to joining UCR/CBRE in 2013, MacLaren was VP of leasing for General Growth Properties (now Brookfield Properties) in Chicago, where she led multiple project leasing teams on assignments throughout the country.

12. Louise Matthews
VP of Global Real Estate, Bacardi

Louise Matthews is the Vice President of Global Real Estate for Bacardi, the family-owned and the largest privately held spirits company in the world, producing and marketing internationally recognized spirits and wines. In her role, Matthews is responsible for strategic planning, transaction and asset management of the family-owned company’s real estate portfolio of 150-plus locations. The role includes the coordination and oversight of multi-disciplinary teams of brokers, architects, engineers, and project managers for the acquisition and development of new offices and manufacturing sites around the globe for the iconic Bacardi portfolio of more than 200 brands and labels. This includes leading sustainability and WELL certification designations in the development of new projects. She is also responsible for the disposition of sites no longer needed to support the company's operations.

Before joining Bacardi, Matthews was a VP of global real estate and facilities at Avon Products Inc., and before that, a director of global real estate at Colgate Palmolive. Earlier in her career, she worked with The Praedium Group as a principal. Matthews graduated from Bucknell University with an undergraduate degree in civil engineering.

15. Bobbie Purdy
VP & Senior Commercial Escrow Officer, Fidelity National Title

Bobbie Purdy is a Vice President and Senior Commercial Escrow Officer with Fidelity National Title. With over 25 years of experience specializing in commercial, industrial, high liability and national transactions, Purdy is a key producer with experience including HUD, TIC, defeasance and portfolio transactions. She prides herself in adept responsive communication and believes it is imperative to develop a strong working relationship with clients. She is motivated, proactive and enjoys the challenge of the ever-changing industry. She also knows that accuracy is essential, is detail-oriented and maintains a high level of professionalism.

Before joining Fidelity National Title, Purdy was a senior commercial escrow officer at First American Title Insurance Company. She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles.

16. Lisa VanCleave Lay
VP of Properties & Corporate Services, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee

Lisa Lay is the Vice President of Properties and Corporate Services for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, which has more than 6,000 employees and serves more than 3.3 million members in the state and across the country. She leads the team responsible for building operations and maintenance, physical security and safety, mail services, and warehousing. This also includes all real estate, renovation, and construction projects for the enterprise.

Lay has been with BlueCross for more than 20 years and has been involved in every interior and exterior facility design project for the Enterprise since 1999, most recently serving as director of properties and corporate services prior to her current role. She earned an undergraduate degree in human ecology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and is a registered Interior Design Professional with the State of Tennessee, NCIDQ Certificate No. 026094.

18. Karen Pritchard
VP & Director of Real Estate, Wellington Management

Karen Pritchard is a Vice President and Director of Real Estate for Wellington Management. In her role, she is responsible for managing a global corporate real estate portfolio. Her specific responsibilities include dynamic portfolio planning, transaction management, financial analysis, design, construction/project management, facilities management, and critical infrastructure engineering. These facilities include offices in Boston, Tokyo, London, Beijing, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Sydney as well as two data centers. The real estate organization includes a small, highly talented in-house team supported by a broad network of professional services firms. Their accomplishments include design and construction of new 450,000 square foot headquarters facility with generator backup; design and construction of Tier 3 Data Center, design and construction of new office locations in London, Hong Kong, Beijing, Sydney, Singapore, and Tokyo.

Before joining Wellington Management, Pritchard was a VP of real estate services at Fidelity Investments. She graduated from Loyola University Maryland with an MBA in finance and from Northeastern University with an undergraduate degree in accounting.

20. Jeanine McShea
VP & Managing Broker, Related Realty

Jeanine McShea is a Vice President and Managing Broker with Related Realty, a global real estate and lifestyle company. In the Chicago real estate market, McShea is renowned among colleagues and clients alike for her integrity, loyalty and expertise. With over 25 years in the industry, both as a broker and an executive for prominent Chicagoland brokerages, she brings a level of professionalism and a network of connections to each partnership that she establishes with her clients, giving them a solid edge when buying or selling a home in the city.

21. Mary Dinkins

Mary Dinkins, Regional President and Residential Lending Advisor of Cornerstone Home Lending, has been a mortgage professional since 1981. Dinkins has been involved in every aspect of the business which has truly established her national reputation for excellence in the industry. During her long tenure in mortgage banking, she has distinguished herself as one of the top 100 loan originators in the country, has in excess of $1 billion in loan production, a return client rate of more than 90 percent and has helped thousands of families achieve their home-buying dreams. Aside from her personal production, she oversees offices in Texas, Utah, Nevada, California and Minnesota. She is also a nationally sought-after speaker at both community and industry-related events.

24. Kathy Zelenock
Real Estate Finance Chair & Partner, Dickinson Wright PLLC

Kathy Zelenock began her professional career 26 years ago. Today, she is the Real Estate Finance Chair and Partner of Dickinson Wright PLLC. Her practice focuses on representation of national and regional lenders, mortgage bankers and loan servicers, with emphasis on capital markets, conduit and bank financing, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily and manufactured housing lending, as well as representation of commercial property owners in real estate matters, particularly leasing activities. She has been closing or supervising counsel for several billion dollars in commercial mortgage loans, including a variety of loan sizes and property types, and has helped design numerous national loan programs from scratch.

Zelenock is also experienced in matters related to troubled properties and owners, and the restructuring and workout of financing arrangements, including related due diligence and litigation. As part of her practice, she and her partner developed innovative transaction management and document automation software that allows them to provide more efficient, cost-effective legal services to clients. Zelenock graduated from Notre Dame Law School with a JD and from the University of Michigan with an undergraduate degree in political science and communications.

25. Shelley Ryan
VP & Senior Property Manager, Kidder Mathews

Shelley Ryan is the Vice President and Senior Property Manager of Kidder Mathews, the largest independent commercial real estate firm on the West Coast. She joined Kidder Mathews in 1989 and currently oversees over 2 million square feet of industrial and office properties along with the coordination of facilities management for 27 AAA Washington locations located throughout the Puget Sound region. Her clients are a diverse group ranging from individuals, corporations, municipalities to institutions, many with sophisticated reporting and accounting requirements. Ryan provides day to day property operations oversight, financial statement analysis and review, budget variance analysis, tenant occupancy review and property budget preparation. She has also provided leadership and oversight in the areas of refinancing, capital/tenant improvements and due diligence on newly acquired properties. She is also a licensed real estate agent.

26. Tricia Brouwers
Area Manager & SVP, Wintrust Mortgage

“Helping other people everywhere” is a motto that Tricia Brouwers lives her live by. Brouwers is an international speaker and certified ambassador for the best-selling book, The ONE Thing by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan. In the last 5 years she has delivered messages from this book to over 10,000 professionals in large- and small-scale events. The book was written to help individuals focus on the simple truths of obtaining extraordinary results in every area of their lives, work, personal, family and spiritual. As a beautiful compliment to her work in The ONE Thing, she most recently became a Certified Guide for Exactly What to Say by Phil M Jones to empower others through the power of their words. A Certified Life Coach holding multiple coaching credentials, coupled with her personal and professional life has led her on a journey speaking to and motivating audiences of 1 to 25,000.

With 30 years of corporate experience, Brouwers, the Senior Vice President and Area Manager at Wintrust Mortgage, is a veteran in mortgages, sales and executive management and leads a billion-dollar production team. She has built a brilliant platform of coaching real estate professionals to achieve greater productivity creating the “win win” for them and her team. She has also been a longtime advocate for autism. Involved with Autism Speaks since its inception in 2005 she served as chairman of the board in Chicago and is currently serving as an advisory board member. Brouwers has spoken to various audiences including television and radio on Autism related topics. She has conducted educational symposiums to increase education and awareness. Additionally, Brouwers is the founder of HOPE GROVE, which is a private apple orchard she created as a vocational solution for her adult son with autism. Her hope is to expand the orchard to other people impacted by autism and to provide a sense of purpose and community to them. Through all her commitments, Brouwers continues to live out her passion to positively impact the lives of others personally and professionally.

28. Rachel Sardenga
VP of Property Management, Stiles

Rachel Sardenga joined Stiles in 2012 as Vice President of Stiles Property Management, a newly created role focused on supporting the expansion and growth of new third-party business in regions outside of the company's sweet spot of South Florida. This includes all markets within West, Central and North Florida. Under her leadership, Stiles' portfolio in these areas has quadrupled and the repeat client list has significantly strengthened. Leveraging Stiles' extensive experience and award-winning property management programs, Sardenga has become the company's local leader in West, Central and North Florida. A seasoned professional with more than 28 years of industry experience, she has built a reputation for excellent client relations and the highest quality service as one of the state's preeminent property managers. Sardenga is a results-driven leader who works closely with individual managers of each property to guarantee the highest level of quality service and tenant relations.

Sardenga brings to Stiles an extensive roster of strategic relationships among property owners, industry peers and service providers. Formerly director of property management at CBRE, she led operations and business development in Central and North Florida and was responsible for a commercial property portfolio of more than 16 million square feet. 30. Alicia Lamadrid
Managing Partner, Cervera Real Estate

Alicia Lamadrid is a Managing Partner of Cervera Real Estate. She has participated in every major Miami real estate cycle since she began her career in 1980. Since then, she has sold more than 115 condominium projects across the region, achieved billions in sales and helped revitalize neighborhoods, including Brickell, Coconut Grove, Miami Beach’s ¨South of Fifth,¨ Downtown Miami, and Edgewater. Today, Lamadrid oversees over $4.5 billion of real estate sales in both general real estate and preconstruction, including premier Miami projects such as Aston Martin Residences Miami and Natiivo Miami amongst others.

Active in the community, Lamadrid is the youngest founding member of the Master Broker’s Forum established in 1992, and still serves as Honorary Chair. She is active with the Downtown community through her board positions at the Downtown Development Authority. Lamadrid is a graduate of the University of Miami where she served as the first Cuban Student Government President.

31. Stephanie Graves
Co-Founder, Q10 Property Advisors

Stephanie Graves is a business owner, speaker, motivator and multifamily professional. She is not only a dynamic speaker that has been entrenched in the multifamily industry for years but offers advice, education and management services on a national level. She co-founded Q10 Property Advisors in 2015, a multifamily property management and consulting firm.

Graves has tackled all levels of assets from new construction to property-based section 8 to properties that many would think twice about operating. She offers her expertise in property marketing and operations and offers a wide spectrum of insight into the multifamily world. She earned an undergraduate degree in communication, holds the CAPS, CAM and IROP designations and has completed Advanced Instructor Training for the National Apartment Association. Graves has held titles from operations specialist to SVP of operations.

32. Lauren Levin
Chief Marketing Officer of Moxy Hotels, Lightstone

Lauren Levin is Chief Marketing Officer at Lightstone, overseeing creative, branding, marketing, and public relations initiatives across Lightstone’s portfolio of Moxy Hotels, as well as its national real estate and corporate platform. Levin is an award-winning lifestyle hospitality marketing and branding executive who previously guided marketing strategies at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, sbe Hospitality / SLS Hotels, Starwood Hotels, and Google. The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) named her as one of “The HSMAI Top 25: Extraordinary Minds in Hospitality Sales, Marketing, Revenue Optimization.” Levin is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, where she is a frequent guest lecturer and an executive mentor.

36. Michelle Kleger
SVP of Business Development, Kensington Vanguard National Land Services

Michelle Kleger is a Senior Vice President of Business Development at Kensington Vanguard. KV National is one of the largest independent full‑service national title insurance agencies in the country. Kleger’s diverse client base includes institutional funds, law firms, lenders, and developers across the country, and has successfully completed over $7 billion in deals during her 6 years at KV.

Kleger has a long record of successfully guiding local, national and multinational clients with their commercial real estate acquisitions and financing. She attributes her success not only to her passion for real estate but also her ability to add value and develop excellent working relationships with her clients. Recently, she co-founded Girl Gang, a women’s real estate professional platform that allows women in CRE to connect in a way that has a professional and personal impact. Kleger graduated from the Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware. 37. Kathryn Scarborough

Kathryn Scarborough is a fifth generation Austinite and has been crafting a bespoke living experience in Austin for over 21 years with over $1 billion in sales, with $228 million in combined sales for 2020 and 2021. Scarborough is one of Austin's top Luxury Agents and has been recognized as the #1 Real Estate Agent city-wide by the Austin Business Journal in years past and consistently ranks in the top tier. She has achieved a reputation in Austin for providing quality service based on integrity, knowledge, and professionalism. Under the mentorship of her mother, Michele Turnquist, Scarborough was taught every aspect of the real estate industry. Her philosophy, as is her mother's, is "knowledge is power." She has exceeded her own expectations with over $150 million in 2021 alone, as well as being the company’s Top Producer from 2004 to present. She also set a record for the highest record sale in Austin’s history, selling a Lake Austin home listed for $38,900,000.

Scarborough was appointed President of Engel & Völkers Austin in 2015 when her family firm merged with the global brand and is recognized as being in the Top 1% of Texas Realtors® (number 16 state-wide). She is a recipient of the DuPont Registry Top Luxury Real Estate Professional Award and is a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist. She has also been a distinguished member of the Million Dollar Guild, Realm, Luxury League and Austin's "Elite 25" for the last decade. She was recently inducted into the top tier of the world's Realtors through Private Office, which is an exclusive hand-selected group of 31 advisors in all of North America, that represent over $2 billion in sales annually in the most sought after and desirable markets in the country. She serves on several nonprofit boards and has chaired committees for the Austin Children's Shelter for the last decade. She is also a board member of The Capital Campaign for Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas, Dell Women's Trust, Women of Hope, The Texas Realty Advisory Board, and has served on the Austin Board of Realtors Grievance Committee. She graduated from St. Edward’s University with an undergraduate degree in corporate communications and marketing with a minor in psychology.

39. Kathleen Felderman
Managing Principal & National Real Estate Practice Leader, EPIC

Kathleen Felderman a Managing Principal and National Real Estate Practice Leader of EPIC. She is responsible for the overall direction, goals and thought leadership for EPIC’s national real estate practice. 44. Laura Wedekind
President, Steiner + Associates

As President of Steiner + Associates, Laura Wedekind is responsible for the oversight of all areas of the company. Working closely with CEO, Yaromir Steiner, and the company’s executive leadership, Wedekind manages key partnerships and guides Steiner's strategic vision. She brings over 25 years of diversified industry expertise, having worked for both small private organizations as well as Fortune 500 companies. Wedekind has been instrumental in securing several hundred-million-dollar loans for Steiner’s biggest projects, including Easton Town Center and was involved in the completion of multiple complex partnerships at Liberty Center. She also played a vital role in the oversight and subsequent disposition of Steiner’s entertainment businesses, including the innovative Adventure Aquarium in Camden, New Jersey and the visionary Newport Aquarium in Newport, Kentucky.

A natural communicator and bridge-builder, Wedekind’s dedication to mentoring aspiring talent as well as participation in leadership roles within multiple civic and charitable organizations has led her to garner multiple awards. She currently serves as a mentor with Urban Land Institute, member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, is board member and treasurer of Healthy New Albany, and is a board member for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and has worked to raise nearly $100,000 for the organization over the past five years. Wedekind earned her undergraduate degree in accounting from The Ohio State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

45. Brenda Torpy
Chief Executive Officer, Champlain Housing Trust

Brenda Torpy has 40 years of experience in the affordable housing field, starting with rural community development and affordable housing advocacy in northern Vermont. As the Community and Economic Development Office’s first Housing Director for the City of Burlington, Torpy led the development of the Burlington Community Land Trust, now Champlain Housing Trust, and served as the founding Board President. In 1991, she joined the staff as Executive Director and served as CEO through 2020. In 2008 CHT was recognized for its innovation with a United Nations World Habitat Award. Torpy has also worked for the Vermont Housing Finance Agency as development director leading their legislative and new program initiatives. After leading VHFA Torpy coordinated the $21 million tenant-led buyout of Northgate Apartments, 336 apartments that needed extensive rehabilitation and reinvestment to assure continued affordability. Torpy was a Ford Foundation Leader for a Changing World 2002, past president of the National Community Land Trust Network; served on the Governor’s Housing Council of Vermont and the Advisory Committees of the Federal Home Loan and Federal Reserve Banks of Boston, and currently serves on the board of Grounded Solutions Network. Not one to let a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis keep her down, Tami is a member of the YPO Pacific Gold Coast chapter, appears as a frequent panelist and guest speaker at Real Estate and entrepreneurship engagements, and is an active mom raising her two girls and twin boys.
