Marks is passionate about her career and acknowledges that it takes hard work and a down-to-earth attitude to advance and maintain a successful career.

“No matter where I've been in life, I've taken those lessons with me: You can't have a successful business if you don't have satisfied customers and engaged colleagues. It doesn't matter size or scale, take on tough assignments and continue to learn as much as you can while genuinely working hard. Surround yourself with a supportive network. Most importantly, you should stay true to yourself and your values, no matter what,” she told CTInsider.

With Marks at the Helm, Otis has delivered a solid financial performance by driving near and long-term strategic priorities while navigating the COVID-19 pandemic and related macroeconomic pressures. She has more than 30 years of experience in the industry and has held senior leadership roles at three global icons: IBM, Lockheed Martin, and Siemens AG. She was serving as CEO of both Siemens USA and Dresser-Rand, a Siemens business, when she accepted the role as President of Otis in 2017.

Marks has described herself as a technology zealot. She eagerly applies digital technologies and actively uses social media to increase the reach of her messages. She was one of six business leaders to receive the 2021 Distinguished Leadership Awards for corporate citizenship and business stewardship from The Conference Board's Committee for Economic Development. In 2017, she was named to the list of the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology and received the Excellence in Leadership Award from the International Society of Automation. She earned a degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University.
