Jae Sook Evans, the seasoned technology leader, has been at the helm of Oracle Corporation as its global Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Platform Services since April 2020. With over two decades of experience, Evans has played a pivotal role in steering global technology teams to deliver cutting-edge, highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure services.
In her current role, Evans is responsible for driving Oracle IT's cloud transformation across thousands of environments, catering to the needs of Oracle's extensive workforce of 170,000 employees and developers worldwide. Leading OCI's global region build program and platform services, she oversees critical systems like billing, subscription management, cost management, OCI console services, and the Oracle Cloud Marketplace. Evans is also at the forefront of ensuring the highest level of availability and service level agreements (SLAs) for OCI customers, actively engaging in customer support.
Passionate about fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace, Evans serves as the executive sponsor of D&I for OCI, contributing to Oracle's Executive D&I Council. Before joining Oracle, Evans held the position of Senior Vice President of Global Infrastructure Engineering and Operations at Walmart Inc. During her tenure, she successfully orchestrated the migration of hundreds of critical applications to Oracle's cloud platform, streamlining processes and ensuring the highest standards of security. She emphasized the importance of creating frameworks, standardizing security policies, and making the migration process more repeatable.
Reflecting on her experience at Walmart, Evans highlighted her role in consolidating teams and technologies, bridging the gap between in-store technology and e-commerce platforms. This consolidation not only enhanced the customer experience but also streamlined internal IT responsibilities for servicing over two million employees.
At Oracle, Evans has continued her transformative journey by centralizing IT functions, overcoming challenges such as "shadow teams" that operated independently.
