Among this year’s honorees is Audrey Masoner, the Chief Operating Officer for the UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Kansas. A seasoned finance executive, Masoner has previously served in high-level roles at Lumen, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Sprint.

As the Head of US Commercial Communications for Zoetis, the largest global animal health company, she develops and executes integrated communications and marketing strategies that elevate the brand, engage stakeholders, and drive business performance. 

Lastly, we congratulate technology leader, Katie Bennewitz, who serves as the Vice President of Engineering for SS&C, a leading global provider of mission-critical, cloud-based software and solutions. Bennewitz is an experienced C-suite executive with a passion for developing engineering leaders.

1). Audrey Masoner
Chief Operating Officer, Kansas Community Plan, UnitedHealth Group 

Audrey Masoner is the Chief Operating Officer for the UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Kansas. She brings a diverse background of professional leadership experience, spanning organizational disciplines from finance, operations, and marketing. Before her role as COO, Masoner served as the chief financial officer for the health plan and was included on the list entitled “CFO of the Year” by Kansas City Business Journal in 2022. 

Before joining UnitedHealthcare, Masoner had held several diverse roles, including senior finance, pricing, and proposal manager at Lumen, director of IT account management at DST, and senior product development manager at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City. She also held multiple finance roles at Sprint and led divestiture and integration roles within Embarq/CenturyLink. 

Masoner received a BSBA in Economics and Finance from Rockhurst University, and she has an MBA from Baker University. She is also a local children’s book author and volunteers her time with Junior Achievement, Kansas City Young Audiences, and Inclusion Connections and as a mentor for Give Something Back. 


2). Anita Hyde
Senior Director, Consulting, Cognizant 

Anita Hyde is a transformative executive with over a decade of experience in data and analytics, thriving in ever-changing environments. Renowned for her strategic vision, Anita consistently delivers impactful data and analytics strategies that drive organizational success through data-driven decision-making. She excels in harnessing the power of data to achieve strategic objectives and accelerate long-term growth. As a thought leader and powerful strategist, she is a key driver of change, transformation, and success. 

Anita is serving in a dual role at Cognizant as the Data Advisory Leader in Technology Modernization and a Trusted Advisor for key strategic client accounts. In this capacity, she participates on the GenAI Steering Committee for North America. In recognition of her contributions in 2024, Anita was named a “Technology Innovator” by Consulting Magazine. She is also dedicated to ongoing professional development and is currently pursuing a Chief Data Officer Certification from CDOIQ with an expected completion in October 2024.


3). Karmen Major
Managing Director, EY

Karmen Major is the Managing Director of EY. EY exists to build a better working world, helping create long-term value for clients, people, and society and build trust in the capital markets. Enabled by data and technology, diverse EY teams in over 150 countries provide trust through assurance and help clients grow, transform, and operate. 

Major is a charismatic leader with over 20 years of inspiring multicultural workforces for Fortune 100 leaders across all industries. She heightens business agility through innovative human capital initiatives. Before joining EY, Major was a senior manager at Deloitte. Before that, she was a founder and principal at Leadership Reclaimed. Earlier in her career, she worked with Loyola University Chicago as an adjunct faculty.

Major graduated from Loyola University Chicago with an MSOD in Organizational Development and from the University of Missouri-Columbia with an undergraduate degree in finance and general.


4). Lucy Fitzpatrick
Executive Director, Business Banking Events & Experiences, JPMorgan Chase

Lucy Fitzpatrick is the Executive Director of Business Banking Events and Experiences at JPMorgan Chase. JPMorgan Chase & Co. is a leading financial services firm based in the US with operations worldwide. Driving client engagement to new heights at JPMorgan Chase, Fitzpatrick’s team curates and executes memorable experiences for business owners.

Starting her career in 2012 as a production assistant and coordinator at V2 Films, Fitzpatrick has over a decade of experience in event management and production coordination, having held roles at MTV News, Viacom, VH1, Comedy Central, and now at JPMorgan Chase, where she started as a production manager in 2015. After promotions to program manager and VP of events, she was promoted to her current position in 2024.

Fitzpatrick graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with an undergraduate degree in broadcast production. Before her first full-time role, she completed two internships at MTV. 


5). Lisa Schaberg
Senior Director, Client Accountable Executive, Client Relationships, Oracle 

Lisa Schaberg, a Senior Director and Client Accountable Executive at Oracle, has been involved with developing and managing many large client projects, ensuring that deliverables and events are executed and delivered in alignment with client strategic and project initiatives, the highest quality, and industry best practices. In addition, Schaberg is responsible for strategic business planning, business development, business case analysis, technology and support services, and industry guidance on key healthcare topics. She has championed client-peer networking initiatives, helping to establish and mature the local HIE between neighboring healthcare providers.

Previously, Schaberg was a software developer and analyst with Chevron Information Technology Company, where she was responsible for developing and implementing enterprise-wide solutions supporting financial business operations. She was selected to participate in the Cerner Certificate in Health Care Leadership program through the University of Missouri–Kansas City. She completed the program with a certificate in September 2013.

Schaberg received undergraduate degrees in computer science and mathematics from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She completed her MBA in Healthcare Management from MidAmerica Nazarene University. Most recently, she achieved Fellow status with the American College of Healthcare Executives.


6). Rory Akers
VP, ERISA Compliance Attorney, Lockton Companies 

Rory Akers has more than 15 years of legal experience as a compliance attorney. She works with team members and Lockton clients to better understand ERISA-related compliance through publications, presentations, and day-to-day support. She answers questions and collaborates with the Compliance Services team to determine the best approach for clients with ERISA-related questions and issues.

Before joining Lockton, Akers worked as a senior investigator for the US Department of Labor's Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA). During her time with the EBSA, Akers conducted complex investigations involving employee benefit plans, service providers, third-party administrators, and other financial institutions to determine compliance with civil and criminal statutes. Rory’s previous work has given her extensive experience in the application and interpretation of applicable provisions of ERISA, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA), applicable provisions of the Internal Revenue Code, and other laws related to employee benefit plans, plan investments, and financial transactions.

In her role as senior Investigator, Akers served as the Kansas City regional coordinator for the Health Benefits Security Project, as the Kansas City multiple employer welfare arrangement regional coordinator, and as a member of the EBSA National Health Development Team.

Akers earned her JD from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and an undergraduate degree in nursing from Truman State in Kirksville, Missouri.


7). Audra Mitchell
Tax Managing Director, Washington National Tax, KPMG

Audra Mitchell is the Tax Managing Director, Washington National Tax of KPMG. She first joined the company in 2016. KPMG is a global organization of independent professional services firms providing audit, tax, and advisory services. Its firms operate in 143 countries and territories with more than 265,000 partners and employees working in member firms around the world. 

Prior to joining KPMG, Mitchell spent more than 19 years working as state tax counsel for Sprint, where she provided consulting services for all Sprint entities, including leasing companies, management companies, and companies that provide services, such as local service, long-distance service, prepaid and postpaid wireless service, Internet access, cloud computing, and many other emerging services.

Mitchell earned a JD in Law from the University of Nebraska College of Law and an undergraduate degree in business from Nebraska Wesleyan University.


8). Meghaan Fountain
VP, Business Planning & Analysis, Citi

Meghaan Fountain is the Vice President of Business Planning and Analysis for Citi. Citi's mission is to serve as a trusted partner to their clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress. Previously, Fountain was vice president and private bank associate banker for ultra-high-net-worth clients for almost two years. 

Previously, Fountain spent nearly four years as vice president and senior project manager in data management at JPMorgan Chase & Co. Before that, she worked there as a project manager and senior private banking associate, starting as a banking associate.

Earlier in her career, she worked with American Century Investments as a licensed investment advisor. Fountain graduated from Park University with an undergraduate degree in business administration and management.


9). Samara Nash 
VP, Professional Services, symplr

Samara Nash is the Vice President of Professional Services at symplr, the industry leader in healthcare operations software and services. With a positive and results-driven leadership style, Samara excels in empowering distributed teams and spearheading business transformations. Her keen ability to analyze organizational needs, identify deficiencies, and uncover opportunities has led to the development of innovative, cost-effective solutions that enhance competitiveness and improve service offerings. Samara's expertise spans hi-tech, operations, professional services, and healthcare for both vendors and providers. Her leadership has driven transformative growth across the healthcare sector, inspiring her team to unlock new potential with customers.

Before joining symplr, Samara had a distinguished 20+ year career in the healthcare technology industry. She focused on driving successful transformations and developing adaptive solutions for both the public and private sectors. A strategic thinker with a knack for execution and communication, Samara is adept at addressing varied audiences and fostering collaboration. She holds a Master’s in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Florida.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Samara is deeply committed to her community. She chairs the IT Council for Cornerstones of Care and volunteers with the Junior League of Kansas City, Habitat for Humanity, and the Rose Brooks Center, where she advocates for women and children.


10). Stacy Schonrock
VP, Senior Merchant Portfolio Officer, Bank of America

Stacy Schonrock is the Vice President and Senior Merchant Portfolio Officer at Bank of America. The Bank of America Corporation is an American multinational investment bank and financial services holding company. Schonrock is a client-focused and results-oriented customer relations management professional with over 19 years of experience in relationship management within the payment processing industry. 

She has demonstrated strength as a consultant and trusted advisor, building and maintaining strategic partnerships, and improving client satisfaction and revenue. Known for her dedication and ability to exceed client expectations, Schonrock utilizes clear and concise communication skills while negotiating contracts and retaining and growing account portfolios. She is a passionate, customer-centric advisor who understands client needs by strategizing, collaborating, identifying paths, developing solutions, and meeting objectives in a timely manner.

Schonrock started her career in 2003 as a district trainer at TeleCheck. From there, she eventually rose to mid-market relationship manager at First Data Corporation, her most recent position prior to joining Bank of America. Schonrock graduated from The University of Kansas with an undergraduate degree in business communications.


11). Leah Fitzgerald
Managing Director, CBRE

Leah Fitzgerald is the Managing Director of CBRE’s Kansas City office. CBRE Group, Inc. is the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm. She oversees the operations of the company’s Kansas City office and drives its growth strategy for all advisory services lines of business, including advisory and transaction services, investment sales, debt and structured finance, property management, valuation, and advisory services. Her broad base of industry experience combined with her forward-thinking delivers exceptional client outcomes.

Fitzgerald joined CBRE with more than 25 years of commercial real estate experience most recently serving as director of development services at VanTrust Real Estate, managing projects throughout the country. She is a licensed general contractor with over 10 years of experience in estimating and project management. Prior, her work with Disney Imagineering as a project development manager instilled in her the importance of “story-telling through design and architecture” while navigating high-stakes projects in Venice, Italy. Her background in corporate real estate, development, architecture, and construction gives her a holistic and varied perspective on the industry.

Fitzgerald earned an undergraduate degree in international architecture from Kansas State University.


12). Bridget Grams
Executive Vice President, JLL

Bridget Grams is the Executive Vice President of JLL. Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) is a global real estate services company, founded in the United Kingdom with offices in 80 countries. The company also provides investment management services worldwide.

Grams has saved clients over $35 million by restructuring more than 160 commercial real estate sites, reducing rents by renegotiating or terminating leases, subleasing, or obtaining remodeling contributions from owners. She has extensive experience working with venture capital groups, crisis management companies, and auditors during the workout process. 

Before joining JLL, Grams was a principal at Huntley, Mullaney, Spargo & Sullivan, Inc. Before that, she was a president at B Grams & Associates, LLC. Earlier in her career, she worked with Santa Barbara Restaurant Group as a director/franchise sales. Grams graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with an undergraduate degree in journalism.


13). Janet Thompson
Executive Vice President, CBIZ 

Janet Thompson has over 30 years of experience in employee benefits and specializes in the design and administration of defined benefit and defined contribution plans. She is an Executive Vice President at CBIZ and serves as relationship manager for many of the firm’s defined benefit and defined contribution clients.

Previously, Thompson was an owner of The Cottonwood Group, managing director of the Kansas City office of Palmer & Cay, and a partner with DeFrain Mayer. Prior to joining DeFrain Mayer, she was the manager of the Kansas City Office of the Alexander & Alexander Consulting Group. She has also held prior consulting and administrative positions with Business Men’s Assurance Company (BMA), Fringe Benefits Design (FBD), and Deferred Compensation Administrators (DCA), a Minneapolis-based firm.

Thompson received a Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare from the University of Minnesota. She is a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries and has earned the designation of Certified Pension Consultant. She serves on the CBIZ Retirement and Investment Solutions Actuarial Executive Board and Steering Committee. She was a 2011 honoree of The Women’s Foundation of Kansas City's “A Celebration of Women” and was recognized in 2012 by the Kansas City Business Journal as one of its 25 “Women Who Mean Business.” She is a past member of the Executive Board of CBIZ Women’s Advantage (CWA) and sits on the CWA Business Development Team.


14). Angie Glotstein
VP, Clinical Quality & Population Health, GEHA Health

Angie Glotstein is an energetic strategist and agile thought leader with more than two decades of diverse experience in the medical field. As Vice President of Clinical Quality and Population Health at GEHA (Government Employees Health Association, Inc., pronounced G.E.H.A.), Glotstein oversees clinical programs, including care management, wellness for both employees and members, clinical quality, and plan accreditation. Her initiatives focus on improving outcomes and promoting health equity by enhancing culturally relevant services and solutions inherent in GEHA’s continual efforts to evolve the member experience. To accomplish these goals, Glotstein emphasizes an evidence-based approach to health and care.

Previously, Glotstein was an executive director at Cerner Corporation, where she served as a leader in the emerging space of cloud-based healthcare IT, founding a fast-growing business unit focused on the development of data intelligence supporting Cerner’s platform. Over the years, she has had the honor of serving on First Hand’s Clinical Decision Committee, assisting in allocating funds to medical expenses for children around the world. Prior to her move to business, she worked as a nurse in the areas of spine surgery, care management, and emergency department care. Her work has led to accolades, including the Daisy Award, and invitations to participate in various leadership collaboratives. Glotstein was published for her joint efforts with clinicians to use electronic health records to advance epilepsy care.

Glotstein is passionate about growing others in their careers and enjoys mentoring emerging leaders. She intentionally builds teams with a passion for healthcare improvement, quality performance, and improved outcomes. She graduated from William Jewell College, where she was recognized as an officer in her nursing department and a member of the national honor society, Sigma Theta Tau.


15). Melissa Mason
Executive, Market VP & General Manager, GE Healthcare

Melissa Mason is an Executive, the Market Vice President, and a General Manager of GE Healthcare, a leading global medical technology, pharmaceutical diagnostics, and digital solutions innovator.

Mason is a dynamic and agile business leader with a demonstrated history of executing performance goals, establishing an energizing culture, and strengthening overall efficiencies to consistently deliver a positive customer experience. She specializes in medical device disposables and capital sales, both directly and indirectly, through the development of high-performing collaborative teams.

Mason started her career in 1993 as a sales representative at Kraft Foods. From there, she went on to Ethicon, Inc., before eventually rising to national vice president of sales at BD, her most recent position prior to joining GE Healthcare. Mason graduated from Saint Louis University with an undergraduate degree in communications and marketing.


16). Melanie Millaway
Senior Director, Investigations & Enterprise Security, PetSmart

Melanie Millaway is the Senior Director of Investigations and Enterprise Security at PetSmart, the leading North American pet company. In her role, Millaway leads, develops, and oversees leaders of the internal and external theft, fraud, and threat investigations team, intelligence and technology, the omnichannel fraud and digital protection teams, and enterprise security. She is responsible for leading the strategy and effective investigation and safeguarding of company assets from losses due to internal and external theft and fraud, threat intelligence, and ensuring fraud mitigation efforts on PetSmart’s e-commerce platform.

Millaway started at PetSmart in 2007 as a manager and has worked in several specialized positions. In early 2010, she landed the role of industrial engineer and by July 2011, she was a senior process analyst. She was then appointed the regional loss prevention and safety manager in 2012 and was continuously promoted in this department until she reached her current position in 2022. 

Previously, Millaway held several roles at UPS, starting as a package handler and ending her tenure there as a communications supervisor. Earlier in her career, she was a park ranger for the National Park Service. Millaway earned an undergraduate degree in criminology from St. Mary's University.


17). Sarah Knights
VP, People Operations, QTS Data Centers

Sarah Knights joined QTS Data Centers, headquartered in Kansas City, in January 2024 as Vice President of People Services Operations. She leads a team administering and managing compensation, commissions, benefits, wellness, leaves, employee changes, onboarding/offboarding, compliance, global mobility, HR systems, and HR reporting and analytics. 

Knights is a seasoned HR professional, coming to QTS from Measured Analytics and Insurance, where she was senior vice president of operations, overseeing HR, operations, and marketing. She previously led Verisk Analytics’ HR transformation and Global Operations Center of Excellence with a regionally-focused, global team managing shared services and system automation. Knights first transitioned into human resources while at Accenture from 2010 to 2018. She re-engineered the North American HR operations and then was tapped to head the operations team. She oversaw ventures and acquisitions for HR, onboarding, compliance, and shared services in addition to operations. During her tenure, she led Accenture’s global revamping of its performance management.

Before her transition into human resources, Knights spent 10 years in banking operations and financial analytics. She earned her GreenBelt in Lean Six Sigma in 2008, went on to achieve BlackBelt certification, and began training and coaching certification programs for Six Sigma. Knights is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. She and her family have lived across the US and have been happy to call Kansas City home for over 12 years. Outside of work, she supports initiatives with her local school board, volunteers at her children’s school events, and celebrates different cultures with her family through travel and activities.


18). Shari Simmons
Global Head of Recruitment Technology & Operations, BNY Mellon

Shari Simmons is the Global Head of Recruitment Technology and Operations at BNY Mellon. Established in 1784, BNY Mellon is America's oldest bank and the first company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. 

Simmons is a results-driven, high-energy talent acquisition expert and change management leader, specializing in leveraging technology to design efficient and effective global teams and processes. She is passionate about figuring out how work can be done better and has an extensive track record in managing global and cross-functional projects that deliver results aligned with key business initiatives. 

Before joining BNY Mellon, Simmons was a vice president of global recruitment operations at TaskUs. Before that, she was a regional talent acquisition director at Sitel Group. Earlier in her career, she worked with Premier Employment Solutions as a recruitment and sales manager. Simmons graduated from Friends University with an undergraduate degree in organizational management and leadership.


19). Joi Tillman
Chief Commercial Dental Officer, Sun Life

Joi Tillman is the Chief Commercial Dental Officer of Sun Life, a leading financial services organization dedicated to helping people achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives. Tillman leads the commercial dental and vision business for Sun Life’s DentaQuest business. Paired with the largest Medicare and Medicaid dental membership in the country, Tillman manages the commercial business responsible for delivering dental and vision benefits and services through employers, serving approximately 3.6 million members.

Tillman has extensive experience in the commercial benefits marketplace, with deep distribution relationships and a longstanding focus on leveraging technology to support business growth. Prior to her role in DentaQuest, Tillman was a vice president for Sun Life’s US group benefits business. She has also been instrumental in the development of Sun Life’s enrollment capabilities, including helping to manage the acquisition and integration of Maxwell Health, a start-up based in Boston acquired by Sun Life in 2018. Tillman has also been heavily involved in ongoing strategy and product development, including new solutions and partnerships.

Before joining Sun Life, Tillman was a senior vice president at Assurant Employee Benefits (AEB). She also held several leadership positions in other areas of the business during her 25 years at AEB, including in underwriting/risk management, operations, and human resources. Tillman attended the University of Missouri Kansas City.


20). Jennifer Ladish
Senior Director, Clinical, Regulatory & Safety, Cerner Enviza

Jennifer Ladish is the Senior Director of Clinical, Regulatory, and Safety at Cerner Enviza. Cerner Enviza is an American healthcare company that provides data, analytics, and research to the life sciences industry, with a particular focus on oncology and rare diseases. 

Ladish is a senior-level professional with over 20 years of experience in a large pharmaceutical research organization. Currently, she manages the Non-Interventional Study (NIS) Department, overseeing adherence to policies and procedures, ensuring high-quality and on-time project deliverables, and maintaining department profitability. With over 10 years of experience in project director and project management roles, she brings extensive expertise in leading successful projects and ensuring operational excellence within her organization.

Ladish started her career in 1994 as a clinical research associate at IMTCI. She also worked for PRA Health Sciences. Ladish graduated from The University of Kansas with an undergraduate degree in psychology.


21). Leah Allen
VP, Design, Technology, Michaels Stores

Leah Allen is the Vice President of Design and Technology at Michaels Stores. She first joined the company in 2022. At The Michaels Companies Inc., their purpose is to fuel the joy of creativity. As the leading creative destination in North America, they operate over 1,300 stores in 49 states and Canada and online at Michaels.com and Michaels.ca.

Allen is a versatile digital executive who has devoted her career to optimizing all aspects of the consumer experience. By effectively blending creative, analytical, and organizational strengths with proven UX, UI, editorial, and visual design skills, she has gained immense satisfaction in developing teams that ensure a superior customer experience while bringing clarity and simplicity to complex problems.

Previously, Allen was a senior director of digital experience at Hallmark Cards. Earlier in her career, she worked with VML as an art director. She earned an undergraduate degree in visual communications - graphic design from Kansas State University.


22). Allyson Leach
VP, GCS Acceleration, State Street

Allyson Leach is the Vice President of GCS Acceleration of State Street. Leach partners cross-functionally with business leaders, enablement teams, communications teams, and project team members to drive consistent change strategies and approaches. State Street partners with institutional investors all over the world to provide comprehensive financial services, including investment management, investment research and trading, and investment servicing. 

At State Street, Leach works with a team to lead the enlightening change management initiative across the enterprise, facilitating employee adoption and usage while minimizing resistance and risk. She brings diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as she has worked with clients from various industries and sectors, such as healthcare, insurance, and finance. Before joining State Street, Leach was a senior solutions architect at Jaroop. Before that, she was a program excellence change manager at Enlighten Operational Excellence. Earlier in her career, she worked with Canterbury Preparatory School as a teacher.

Leach graduated from The University of Kansas with an undergraduate degree in management and leadership studies. She also holds certifications in leadership and service learning, which reflect her values of collaboration, innovation, and social impact.


23). Sara Burton
Chief Operating Officer, Hallmark Cards

As the Chief Operating Officer for Hallmark Cards, Sara Burton brings more than 20 years of experience at Hallmark to this role, much of this spent in innovation and business leadership. Hallmark Cards, Inc. is a privately held, family-owned American company based in Kansas City, Missouri. In her role, Burton will oversee supply chain planning, manufacturing, logistics, procurement, and product integrity functions for Hallmark Global, the company’s greeting card and retail business.

Burton’s career began at Hallmark in finance in 2001. Over the years, she has held positions in many different parts of the business before transitioning to digital commercialization, where she built Hallmark’s greeting card business on Amazon from the ground up and launched the company’s omnichannel presence with more than 20 mass retailers. Most recently, Burton served as vice president of digital commercialization, where she led the work to launch new, innovative capabilities like Hallmark’s all-new Sign & Send service on Hallmark.com and expanded Hallmark’s Amazon business to its other platforms driving consecutive year-over-year growth across Amazon and direct-to-consumer channels.

Burton is a graduate of Drake University and holds a Master of Accounting, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Actuarial Science.


24). Kelly Peterson Miranda
Chief Privacy Officer, Grindr

Kelly Peterson Miranda is the Chief Privacy Officer for Grindr. In this role, she establishes the compliance vision and strategy for the company’s global privacy program. She collaborates cross-functionally with key internal stakeholders, such as data science, AI/ML, product, revenue, and engineering to ensure adherence to Grindr’s data governance framework. Her team conducts privacy-by-design reviews and third-party vendor reviews and also reviews and implements controls for adherence to new privacy laws and privacy-adjacent regulations, such as the Digital Services Act. 

During her time at Grindr, Miranda has served as the deputy security officer under a National Security Agreement with the United States government, helped the company go public in 2022, and liaised with numerous trade organizations and domestic and international regulators on Grindr’s behalf. She values diversity and collaboration and seeks opportunities to promote both in the field of privacy. 

Before joining Grindr, Miranda led EU Regulatory Compliance for Amazon Advertising and also launched the GDPR compliance program for a FinTech company that was the subsidiary of a Fortune 100 company. Miranda holds an Educational Leadership and Administration degree and a Master's degree in English Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, as well as a Bachelor's degree in English. 25). Ashley Bieck
VP, Provider Experience & Advocacy, Optum

Ashley Bieck serves as the Vice President of Provider Experience and Advocacy at Optum Health, supporting network operations for over 53,000 physicians providing risk-based care through Optum's care delivery organizations. Optum, Inc. is an American healthcare company that provides technology services, pharmacy care services, including a pharmacy benefit manager, and various direct healthcare services.

Bieck is a dynamic healthcare executive and leader, providing expertise in the areas of physician and C-suite engagement, strategic account management, provider network operations and development, medical society relationships, revenue management, and administrative leadership. She is an expert in leading people, managing high-performing teams, building new processes and programs, and overall organizational growth strategies. Her entire career has been in the healthcare sector, with additional focus areas of communications, education/training, social responsibility, culture change, political and legislative process, grantmaking/grant funding, and community involvement. 

Bieck started her career in 1999 as a supervisor of laboratory medical information systems at Truman Medical Centers. From there, she went on to West Central Missouri Area Health Education Center, before eventually rising to vice president of national provider advocacy at UnitedHealthcare, her most recent position prior to joining Optum. Bieck graduated from The University of Kansas with an MPA in public administration and from William Jewell College with an undergraduate degree in history.


26). Debbi Vandeven

29). Brandy McCombs

Brandy McCombs is the proud founder of IBC Carpentry LLC, celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, and IBC Traffic, Inc., marking its 10th anniversary. McCombs is a true trailblazer who serves as the President of IBC, a prominent contractor in Kansas City that offers a range of construction capabilities in both commercial building and heavy construction arenas. She was born and raised in Athens, Ohio, with a family history of entrepreneurship.

McCombs’ achievements include making history in 2023 by becoming the first woman chair of The Builders, a chapter of the AGC KC, in its 136 years of existence. 30). Rachel Hale
VP & Actuary, New York Life Insurance Company

Rachel Hale is the Vice President and Actuary of New York Life Insurance Company. She is also the head of actuarial model architecture and development. New York Life Insurance Company (NYLIC) is the third-largest life insurance company and the largest mutual life insurance company in the United States. In 2023, NYLIC achieved the best possible ratings by the four independent rating companies (Standard & Poor's, AM Best, Moody's, and Fitch Ratings).

Previously at New York Life Insurance Company, Hale held the position of corporate vice president and actuary, a role she has maintained from 2019 to 2022. She has also served as corporate vice president from 2013 to 2019. Before that, Hale was an assistant consulting actuary at Actuarial Resources Corporation. Earlier in her career, she worked with MassMutual Financial Group as a quantitative specialist.

31). Latanna Littlejohn
VP, Customer Success, Veracity Consulting

Latanna (LT) Littlejohn, Vice President of Customer Success at Veracity Consulting, Inc., has been recognized as one of Kansas City's top 50 women leaders. LT’s career began with a subcontracting role at Lockheed Martin, working for the Kansas City US Army Corps of Engineers. 32). Angela Davied
Head of Corporate Communications, Valvoline Inc.

Angela Davied is the Head of Corporate Communications of Valvoline Inc. Valvoline Inc. is an American retail automotive services company, publicly traded on the NYSE as VVV. As of 2023, it is the second-largest oil change service provider in the United States with 10% market share and over 1,650 locations.

Before joining Valvoline Inc., Davied was a vice president of corporate communications at H&R Block. She led a corporate communications team of over 15 talented professionals, dedicated to transforming brand perceptions and enhancing cultural relevancy. Before that, she was the VP of corporate communications for NIC Inc. There, she built the communications function from the ground up, starting as an individual contributor and expanding it to a team of four professionals. Additionally, she spearheaded investor relations efforts, crafting all earnings materials and engaging institutional investors and analysts. 

Earlier in her career, she worked with the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce as a communications coordinator. Davied graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with an undergraduate degree in journalism.


33). Leslie Duke
Chief Executive Officer, Burns & McDonnell

Leslie Duke is the Chief Executive Officer of Burns & McDonnell. At Burns & McDonnell, their engineers, construction professionals, architects, planners, technologists, and scientists do more than plan, design, and construct. Her focus on client service, quality work, and fostering talented personnel has positioned Burns & McDonnell as the preferred engineering consultant in Texas. Under her leadership, the company introduced engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services in Texas, resulting in the successful execution of over 100 multi-million dollar projects. She is recognized for expanding Burns & McDonnell’s customer base from one to more than 100 clients across industrial, refining, chemical, manufacturing, and utility markets.

Previously, Duke held the position of group president and general manager in Burns & McDonnell’s South Central Region, where she led the largest and fastest-growing regional office nationwide. Beginning her tenure there in 1999 as a project manager and structural engineer specializing in electrical transmission and distribution, she later advanced to lead the Houston group and was appointed vice president in 2007. In 2010, she opened Burns & McDonnell’s regional office in Dallas-Fort Worth and served as general manager before returning to Houston in 2012 as regional manager. By 2014, she had risen to the position of senior vice president. 

Duke graduated from Texas Tech University with an undergraduate degree in civil/structural engineering.


34). Kristi Briseno

Jennifer Meents is the President of Massage Envy Lee's Summit. Its network of franchised locations is the largest provider of therapeutic massages and skin care in the United States. The Massage Envy franchise network uses a membership-based business model, and the franchisees are collectively the largest American employer of massage therapists and estheticians. 

Additionally, Meents briefly held the role of president at Massage Envy in 2017. Previously, Meents served as president at AAA Screening from October 2003 to January 2017. Prior to these positions, she worked at Sprint from July 1999 to May 2003, gaining experience in finance, sales, distribution, and marketing within the Sprint PCS group.

Meents graduated from the University of Iowa with an MBA in Finance and Marketing and from The University of Kansas with an undergraduate degree in economics and communication.


37). Iveth Jalinsky 
Chief Sustainability Officer, Harlan Global Manufacturing

Iveth Jalinsky is the Chief Sustainability Officer for Harlan Global Manufacturing. She previously served as the chief strategy officer for nearly two years. With experience in the financial and construction industries, she understands global commercialization, trade, customer relations, and infrastructure creation. Jalinsky is also the founder of Green Resources Consulting.

Jalinsky studied at Taller 5 Design University in Colombia Industrial Design and continued the architecture and restoration of fine old art and antiquities while working several jobs.

In 1999, she moved to the United States due to persecution. She was a single mother, struggling to speak and understand English and its culture. She was driven to succeed no matter the challenges. She studied finance, global trading, stock exchanges, and macroeconomics while developing and growing businesses. She has also been a member of the Washington DC Chamber of Commerce Committee, Johnson County Art Council Governing Board, Board Member of Ethlyn’s Hope in Kenya for Kids, and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City.

Jalinsky believes and has learned through experience that sacrifice and endurance are the catalysts to accomplishment. It takes courage, discipline, and the ability to stay focused, along with a well-developed sense of humanity. She hopes to change the world by bettering the environment through green resources and green technologies. Jalinsky joined Harlan in 2022 with the clear goal of supporting and re-architecting the company to its next level of growth and is utilizing this experience to gain multidimensional traction. 38). Alicia Mowder

Alicia Mowder is the Senior Vice President of Product Strategy and Insights for Panera Bread. 39). Emily Shipman
VP, Commercial Cybersecurity Products, Mastercard

Emily Shipman is the Vice President of Commercial Cybersecurity Products of Mastercard, a global technology company in the payments industry. Tan Bhala is a multiple award-winning and Amazon.com bestselling author of Ethics in Finance: Case Studies from a Woman’s Life on Wall Street. She has published numerous books and book chapters on finance and financial ethics. 

Tan Bhala has five degrees across three disciplines. She has a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Business, a Master’s degree in Liberal Studies, and a Master’s degree and a PhD in Philosophy. She has lived and worked in London, Oxford, Singapore, Hong Kong, New York, and Washington DC., and currently resides in Kansas City, MO. 41). Kelli Franzenburg

Valenzuela has spent nearly 14 years at Robert Half, where she held various roles, including recruiting manager, assistant vice president, and branch manager. In these positions, she managed multiple teams and oversaw the placement of accounting, finance, administrative, clerical, and office support professionals on a contract and contract-to-full-time basis. Prior to her tenure at Robert Half, she served as marketing manager at CARSTAR from May 2006 to May 2010, where she focused on developing business relationships with local insurance companies to enhance customer service quality.

Valenzuela graduated from the University of Central Missouri with an undergraduate degree in business administration, management, and marketing.

With a robust public service and organizational leadership background, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has appointed Watson Commissioner Chair of the Kansas Human Rights Commission for a second four-year term.

Watson previously served as Deputy Chief of Staff for former Mayor David Alvey of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County, Kansas City, Kansas. Eggers is a proven brand manager and team player, demonstrating a strong commitment to the success of her brands. Eggers started her career in 1996 as an executive assistant in customer service at Abt Electronics. From there, she went on to Forkless Gourmet, Inc., before eventually rising to VP of commercial operations at IN Marketing, her most recent role prior to joining Advantage Solutions. Eggers graduated from DePaul University with an undergraduate degree in communications and business administration.

Ms. Karen Duff, as President and CEO of International Express Trucking, Inc., has established herself as the premier, woman-owned drayage firm in the Midwest region. As the Founder, President and CEO of International Express Trucking, Inc. (2001), IXT, LLC (2013), IXT Leasing, LLC (2015).

In the 30+ years she has spent within logistics, Ms. Duff has grown from an entry level logistics administrative assistant to an extremely successful, self-made, multi-million- dollar business owner within the Midwest International ocean drayage regional market. As many women in the industry know first-hand, this has not been without immense challenges and obstacles. While her specialty is international drayage, it’s her commitment to the customer, her integrity, and her ability to deliver exceptional value on the customer’s terms that are key qualities that drives her success. At the community level, Ms. Duff has always believed that commitment to others and the community is paramount to building a lasting legacy. Over the years, she has made a point to identify key area businesses and associations where she as an individual and as a business owner can positively influence by providing both time and treasure.

Since IXT was founded, Ms. Duff has provided multiple avenues and opportunities for all to be successful. Starting with six employees, today, IXT has grown to 42 full-time employees and 90 + independent contractors and offers a summer internship for an active college-age student. Ms. Duff has recognized the value and strengths of a diverse workforce and employs and contracts labor that represents over 36 countries.


50). Tracey Lanning

Tracey Lanning serves as Senior Director and Legal Liaison for Colliers’ highly respected multi-market occupier services team based in Dallas, Texas. Colliers is a leading diversified professional services and investment management company. Leveraging her legal background, along with a wealth of procurement and contracting experience, Lanning brings a full range of support to the team’s clients, ranging from initial planning stages all the way through deal execution.

Since joining the team in December 2020, Lanning has served more than 30 client accounts and enjoys being part of a team that excels at managing a high volume of fast-paced multimarket transactions while consistently exceeding client expectations. She coordinates and interfaces with each client’s designated legal counsel evaluates existing lease documents for renegotiation opportunities, assists the team’s brokers in the preparation and review of RFPs and LOIs in order to capture all critical deal terms, and at the client’s direction, she provides drafting and preliminary redline support for all documents required to close the transaction, including leases, purchase and sale agreements, and license agreements. Prior to joining Colliers, Lanning served as a senior transaction manager for the DFW-based Advisory & Transaction Services team of CBRE, Inc., and as a technology strategic sourcing manager for Sprint/T-Mobile.

Lanning brings over 10 years of strong negotiation and contract management experience to the team. She earned her law degree from the University of Missouri’s Kansas City School of Law. She has practiced law in both Missouri and Kansas and spent her first year after graduation from law school in private practice. She was ultimately drawn to the high energy and collaborative atmosphere of commercial transactions. She has experience managing industrial and office leases, delivering cost-effective and strategic service strengthened by her expertise in construction services contracting.
