For 20 years, she has managed a multitude of federally funded research projects designed to generate discoveries that inform public policy and impact the standard of care for HIV patients across the U.S. and in international settings. As a senior study director at Westat, she currently leads the coordinating center for the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development's Prevention and Treatment through a Comprehensive Care Continuum for HIV-affected Adolescents in Resource Constrained Settings (PATC3H) program. Laimon has contributed to the scientific literature through numerous publications in leading scientific journals. She also served on a variety of education and training panels as well as promotion and public awareness panels. Drawing from her background in marketing, she has created expansive educational materials and informational products for various marketing and health initiatives. Outside of her professional career, Laimon is passionate about helping children in need. She founded the 4 Season Giving Tree, a grass-roots non-profit organization that creates the infrastructure needed to fulfill the immediate needs of disadvantaged families by providing new and upcycled donations from the local community. She holds an undergraduate degree in marketing and business management from James Madison University and a master's degree in clinical research administration from George Washington University.
