Women We Admire is pleased to announce The Top 50 Women Leaders of Massachusetts for 2022. This year’s awardees are leading in some of Massachusetts’ top industries including biotechnology, maritime trade, engineering, information technology, finance, health care, as well as higher education. While the state lacks major natural resources, it makes up for with high-performing schools and a well-educated workforce. The diligence and commitment of these individuals is exemplified in their every commitment and does not go unnoticed. Their efforts have an immediate impact on the individuals and organizations they serve.

Among this year’s awardees are Gyongyi Szabo, Chief Academic Officer of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, who oversees robust research and teaching programs and supports a broad range of basic, translational and clinical research priorities; Vanessa Candela, Chief Legal Officer of Celonis, who is responsible for leading the company’s worldwide legal and compliance functions as well as strategy and direction; and Shau Zhang, Partner of EY, who is instrumental in some of the largest transitions in the history of U.S.-China Trade.

2. Dawn Frazier-Bohnert
EVP & Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer, Liberty Mutual

Dawn Frazier-Bohnert joined Liberty Mutual Insurance in the spring of 2013 to shape the new office of Diversity and Inclusion. As Executive Vice President, Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer, Dawn is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of Liberty Mutual's diversity and inclusion strategy and programs. This includes enhancing employees’ D&I capability and skills, internal and external communications, metrics and measurements, benchmarking, external partnerships, and the development of employee resource groups.

Prior to joining Liberty Mutual Insurance, Dawn was chief administrative officer and partner at Global Novations, a Korn/Ferry International Company, where she developed their human capital strategy and led their post-merger company culture-shaping efforts. Before employment with Global Novations, she was at The Gillette Company as VP, global diversity and inclusion, where she developed and led their Global Diversity Strategic Plan. Dawn has also held HR leadership positions at Lotus/IBM, Fidelity Investments, and Millennium Pharmaceuticals.
Dawn attended Mount Holyoke College and graduated from Boston University with an undergraduate degree in rehabilitation counseling.

3. Carole Symonds
Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers

Carole Symonds is a Tax Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers' Law Firm Services practice, responsible for leading tax services to law firm clients in the East Region. As lead tax engagement partner for more than 16 AmLaw 100 and 200 firms, she works on a broad range of client matters. She is also a featured speaker and moderator at PwC Law Firm Services events.

In addition to her work with law firms, Symonds has also worked with other private companies including S corporations, other pass-through entities and closely-held corporations on federal, state and international tax matters. She has also been with PwC’s Washington National Tax Services group in Washington D.C., consulting with clients nationally on tax accounting methods, as well as the International Tax Services practice, assisting companies in all areas of international tax planning, including transfer pricing, foreign tax credits, international structuring, check-the-box and hybrid entities, and inbound tax planning for foreign investment. Symonds graduated from Northeastern University with an MS in taxation and from University of Southern Maine - School of Business with an undergraduate degree in accounting.

4. Samantha Santiago
Head of Claims Strategy & Automation, Farmers Insurance

Samantha Santiago has always been a mover and shaker, challenging the status quo and passionate about elevating human potential. Santiago has nearly 20 years of experience and an impressive background of bringing strategy deployment, innovation, and process improvement within the financial services, supply chain, and insurance industries. Her journey has included positions with Liberty Mutual, Toyota Financial Services, Hyundai Capital America, Staples, and Farmers Insurance. Santiago is a pioneering strategy executive for Farmers Insurance and serves a critical role as a leading technology and innovation influencer within the Insurance industry. In her current role, she is responsible for developing an overarching, topline claims strategy to help ensure we’re looking out on the horizon and staying on top of where the marketplace is headed. Currently, Santiago has responsibility for Claims Digital Transformation, Advanced Analytics, Claims Customer Experience, Centralized Strategy and Competitive Intelligence.

Santiago is also a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black belt, a professional designation signifying that she is highly trained in the art of improving results using lean concepts and advanced statistical analysis techniques. She was nominated as Staples “U.S. Businesswoman of the Year” and is an active external speaker on technology, innovation, and leadership. With a deep passion for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Santiago is a founding member of CHIEF in Los Angeles, a private network dedicated to advancing Women in Leadership and keeping them at the leadership table. She is an alumnus of the Next Generation Executive program and is an active member of the Partnership community.

5. Shau Zhang
Partner, EY

Shau Zhang is a Partner and the Americas leader of China Overseas Investment. Since 2011, Zhang has successfully built a practice with a team of more than 20 core team members and approximately 50 extended team members across all service lines, sectors in different locations across the Americas. In this role, Zhang has made significant contributions in increasing EY’s visibility in the Chinese business community both in China and in the U.S. On some of the largest transitions in the history of U.S.-China Trade, Zhang has advised clients at the C-suite and chairman level on the cooperative and business practices that will facilitate sustainable value creation. Her profound professional knowledge and extended network with the government and business associations, as well as outstanding services, has continuously helped EY gain access to the new Chinese inbound investors and helped EY stay competitive in this market sector.

Zhang started her career with EY Boston office in 1997. Prior to 2011, Zhang was a tax partner managing US clients ranging from large multinational companies in the sector of real estate, asset management, private equity, university endowment funds, timber funds, sports teams to corporations in biotech and manufacturing. She is an activist in helping to facilitate dialogue between businesses in the U.S. and China. Zhang is a member of the Business Advisory Council of the Asia Society in New York and has been recognized as one of the Top Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business in 2016 by the Asian American Business Development Center. She was one of the first sponsors of the China General Chamber of Commerce-USA, a proud supporter of the National Committee of U.S.-China Relations and a trusted friend of China Children Pediatric Foundation. Zhang is a frequent sponsor and speaker at student-run events such as the Harvard China Forum. At these events, she leverages her extended business network and professional capabilities to give back to the community, to help young Chinese professionals and students in the U.S. to connect the dots, raise perspectives and develop capabilities. Zhang graduated with a MS degree in power mechanical engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She is actively involved in her college alumni association, Chiao-Tung University Alumni Association in America (“CTUAAA”) and is a member of the CTUAAA board.

8. Shelby Saad-Callahan
Tax Partner, EY

Shelby Saad-Callahan is a Tax Partner and the East Region EY Private Leader. She has more than 22 years of private- and public-company tax experience. Her primary focus has been on partnership transactions, tax compliance, tax planning and consulting for clients in various industries, including law, healthcare, real estate and venture capital/private equity, as well as for other professional services partnerships and limited liability companies. Saad-Callahan conducts technical trainings for members of the Partnership Group. She also provides technical training to EY employees in various offices.

Previously, Saad-Callahan was a member of the Joint Ventures and Partnerships Tax Consulting group in Ernst & Young LLP’s National Tax Department, based in Washington, D.C. from September 2005 through September 2007. She holds an undergraduate degree in accountancy from Boston College and a master's degree in taxation from Northeastern University. She is a licensed CPA in Massachusetts.

9. Gyongyi Szabo
Chief Academic Officer, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center

Dr. Gyongyi Szabo serves as Chief Academic Officer of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH), where she oversees robust research and teaching programs and identifies and supports a broad range of basic, translational and clinical research priorities. An internationally recognized leader in the field of liver immunology and a highly regarded educator, Gyongyi brings extensive knowledge and experience in scientific research and mentorship.

Most recently, Gyongyi served as Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Medicine, Associate Dean for Clinical and Translational Sciences, Director of the MD/PhD Medical Scientist Training Program and Associate Vice Provost for Interprofessional Education in Research at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Having published more than 200 peer-reviewed journal articles, Gyongyi leads a research laboratory focusing on cures for liver inflammation. She is a fellow of several professional associations, including the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Physicians, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, where she served as President in 2015. She is a recipient of Doctor Honoris Causa from the Semmelweis University and elected member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

10. Stacey Richey
Vice President of People, Corvus Insurance

Stacey Richey is the Vice President of People for Corvus Insurance. Corvus Insurance uses artificial intelligence to better understand commercial insurance risk. Their software empowers brokers and policyholders to better predict and prevent complex risks through data-driven tools and Smart Commercial Insurance® policies. For over 15 years, Richey has built teams for high-growth tech companies. She takes a data-driven and heart-led approach to people operations that balances rapid scaling with retention.

Prior to Corvus, Richey implemented talent best practices for over 20 global software companies in the Vista portfolio along with companies such as Google and Toast. Richey is a graduate of Purdue University.

12. Marsha MacLean
VP & Managing Broker, Coldwell Banker Residential

Marsha MacLean is the Vice President and Managing Broker of Coldwell Banker Residential. Her goal is to assist the agents in her office live exceptional lives by accomplishing their professional goals. Her expertise in the real estate industry has made her an outstanding coach and a positive asset to one of the most successful CBRB offices in New England. Attributing a lot of her successes to the resources offered at Coldwell Banker, she has dedicated her efforts in helping agents become proficient in the CBRB marketing tools and innovative technology. The global reach of the Coldwell Banker brand along with a powerful and comprehensive 360-degree marketing approach of working with buyers and sellers provide a great platform for real estate professionals to succeed under the Coldwell Banker brand.

MacLean brings more than 20 years of experience and an abiding commitment to going above and beyond into each client relationship. Her experience selling single family, multi-family and condominiums has helped sellers in Boston and the surrounding suburbs with the quick sale of their homes. MacLean joined Coldwell Banker Back Bay in 2017 and formed the MacLean Springer Group. Utilizing resources available at Coldwell Banker and her leadership skills, she helped double the team production volume and earned the International President’s Circle Team Recognition and became the #6 team in North America in Rental Volume in 2018. MacLean earned an MA in international business and finance and an undergraduate degree in economics and real estate from Brandeis University.

13. Kathleen Federico
SVP & Chief People and Corporate Strategy Officer, MITRE

Kathleen Federico is the Senior Vice President, Chief People and Corporate Strategy officer at MITRE. She leads MITRE’s talent and people programs, strategic communications, and corporate strategy. Federico uses her deep expertise and diverse experience to shape the values and culture of the organization, with a focus on innovation, opportunity, and growth through the lens of inclusion and diversity.

Federico is recognized for her business acumen, having led several industries in modernizing their talent management, compensation, learning and development, and operations. Previously, Federico was chief human resources officer for Civitas Solutions, where she oversaw the transformation of the organization’s HR enterprise. She also held dual roles as senior vice president of sales and HR at World Travel Holdings, the world’s largest cruise agency. Federico is the recipient of numerous awards including the National Association of Colleges and Employers Employer Recruiting Champion 2021. She also serves on the board of directors for the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, the Edinburg Center, and the executive committee of the Massachusetts Business Round Table. She is a member of the Massachusetts High Technology Council and holds a bachelor’s degree from Merrimack College.

16. Teresa Barreira
EVP & Global Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Publicis Sapient

Since 2018, Teresa Barreira has served as EVP, Global Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at the digital business transformation company Publicis Sapient. As CMO, Barreira brings over two decades of global business-to-business marketing experience, brand building and reinvention, double-digit revenue growth, digital and agile marketing, omni-channel and client-centric strategies for the IT and professional services industries.

Prior to joining Publicis Sapient, Barreira was the CMO for Deloitte Consulting. Barreira’s marketing career has also included senior leadership positions with large technology companies, including Accenture for more than 13 years and IBM for ten years, and startup software organizations such as Lotus. Barreira earned an MBA from Northeastern University in Boston and a BA from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. As an active mentor and advocate to grow talent, she mentors young women and disadvantaged youth and serves in non-profit committees and organizations in the Toronto area.

17. Patti Fletcher
Chief Marketing Officer, Limeade

Patti Fletcher is the Chief Marketing Officer of Limeade. She first joined the company in 2021. Fletcher builds and leads high-performing global SAAS marketing, brand, communications and technology organizations around the experience-based customer value proposition and enables them to move fast and get the right things done.

Previously, Fletcher was a co-CMO and VP of brand marketing at Workhuman, and before that, a global VP of tools & technology solution marketing at SAP SuccessFactors. Earlier in her career she worked with SAP as a senior director of HCM strategic global marketing. Fletcher earned a doctorate degree in management in organizational leadership from University of Phoenix, an MBA from Richmond University, and an undergraduate degree in business administration from University of Phoenix.

18. Lisa Crawford
Chief Human Resources Officer, Precisely

Lisa Crawford is the Chief Human Resources Officer of Precisely, a global leader in data integrity, providing accuracy and consistency in data for 12,000 customers in more than 100 countries, including 99 percent of the Fortune 100. Crawford is a professional change agent who has built an almost 30-year career spanning several industries and areas of specialization with a single-minded belief that actively engaged employees are a company's #1 competitive advantage.

Crawford began her career in advertising at such major agencies as Ogilvy & Mather and Digitas, among others, where she led engagements for clients like American Express, AT&T and Microsoft. She then transformed a decade of success into a thriving corporate university at Digitas, where she taught others to deliver superior results for clients. Crawford led the organizational development function at Ropes & Gray, a global law firm and then headed HR at a U.S. division of Randstad, the 2nd largest staffing firm in the world. After founding EvolvHR, a talent consultancy, she was hired by client Unitrends in 2015, where she was the Chief People Officer. In May 2018, Crawford joined Centerbridge Partners-backed Syncsort as the CHRO. She is a cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College.

19. Vanessa Candela
Chief Legal Officer, Celonis

Vanessa Candela is Chief Legal Officer of Celonis, a pre-IPO, hypergrowth Decacorn. She is the executive responsible for Celonis' worldwide legal and compliance functions, leading global initiatives and advising senior management on company strategy and direction. Candela has extensive experience as a CLO and GC. She is a seasoned corporate attorney with more than 20 years of experience, advising public and private companies with respect to all aspects of their business.

Candela first got her start in 2000 as an associate at Foley Hoag LLP. From there, she went on to EMC before eventually rising to chief legal officer and chief compliance officer at Netcracker Technology, her most recent position prior to joining Celonis. Candela graduated from Northeastern University School of Law with a JD and from Boston College with an undergraduate degree in finance.

22. Dune Thorne
Partner & Chief Strategy Officer, Brown Advisory

Dune Thorne is a Partner at Brown Advisory where she serves on the Executive Committee and is the Chief Strategy Officer for the Private Client and Endowment & Foundation Business. Brown Advisory is an investment advisory firm that manages over $140B for institutions and families from fourteen offices globally. Her work has evolved to focus on sustainable and impact investing, diversity and inclusion and the intersection between investing and philanthropy.
In 2010 she founded Invest in Girls, a non-profit focused on financial literacy for under-represented high-school girls that now works with over 4,500 girls across the country and is continuing to grow and expand through its combination with The Council for Economic Education.

Dune has been honored with numerous awards, including EV Kids Youth Champion Award, 2018, World Economic Forum’ Young Global Leader, 2013, Advisor One’s Top 50 Women in Wealth, 2011, and Boston Business Journal’s Emerging Leader 2011. A frequent speaker, radio and television interviewee, Dune authored her own TEDx talk, “Jump to the New S Curve: Unleash the Power of Inclusion” and has been quoted in financial journals as well as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Forbes.com. Dune attended Harvard Business School where she received an MBA and was the recipient of a Summer Social Enterprise Fellowship in 2003. She holds a BA from Dartmouth College in Economics where she was also captain of the Division 1 nationally ranked Women’s Lacrosse team and received All-Ivy Academic Honors. She is also a graduate of the Boston Center for Community & Justice Lead Boston Program and the Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century at the Harvard Kennedy School.

23. Johanna Rodden
Vice President of Sales, Institutional Shareholder Services Incorporated

Johanna Rodden began her professional sales career 18 years ago. Today, she is Vice President of Sales at Institutional Shareholder Services Incorporated (ISS). ISS is a leading provider of corporate governance and responsible investment solutions, market intelligence, fund services, and events and editorial content for institutional investors. At ISS, Rodden is responsible for bringing ISS’ Corporate Governance and ESG solutions to the Asset Management community in the New England area, including managing a number of the largest Asset Management firms in Boston.

Prior to ISS, Rodden worked for IW Financial as a senior sales executive where she was responsible for building business relationships by delivering environmental, social, and governance (ESG) solutions to institutional investors. Rodden has dual degrees from New England College, holding degrees in business administration with a minor in accounting and sports & recreation management. In her spare time, Rodden is an avid golfer in the summer, skier in the winter and enjoys traveling year-round.

24. Paula Fleming
Chief Marketing & Sales Officer, Better Business Bureau of Eastern Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island & Vermont

Paula Fleming began her professional career 19 years ago. Today, she is the Chief Marketing & Sales Officer of Better Business Bureau of Eastern Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, & Vermont. Fleming is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and execution of an organization's marketing and advertising initiatives. In relation to sales, she is responsible for the management of the entire sales department and overseeing all sales-related activities. She is a sales management and marketing professional with over 20 years of experience in the communications, marketing, and sales industries.

Fleming first joined the Better Business Bureau in 2003 and served as the VP of communications, marketing, and sales. She currently serves as the chair of the MetroWest Out of the Darkness Walk. Fleming graduated from Plymouth State University with an undergraduate degree in corporate communications.

26. Deirdre Leid
VP, Hardware Business Unit, Hudl

Deirdre Leid is Vice President of Hudl’s Hardware Business Unit, leading a team of engineers, product managers, and supply chain professionals to develop industry-leading smart camera solutions to automatically record, upload and livestream game film for sports teams worldwide. A strategic-minded executive with more than 20 years of experience in the Consumer Technology space, Deirdre combines operational excellence, product management, and business management to create innovative software/hardware products for large-scale consumer markets. Deirdre and her team are committed to professional mentoring, coaching and supporting young professionals, specifically young women, in navigating and excelling in the technology industry. Before joining Hudl, she previously held roles at Sonos, Bose, and Harman, where Five of her products received the prestigious Consumer Electronics Show Innovation Award.

Outside of work, she is passionate about giving back to the community, dedicating time towards supporting organizations that unlock opportunities for girls worldwide as a fundraiser for HopeForGirlsAfrica.org and mentor for local Technovation Challenge teams. Additionally, she supports Boston area veterans as a volunteer with the New England Center and Home for Veterans. She has also been a mentor and advisor to two consumer startups and past President of Wayland Youth Basketball. Before her corporate ventures, Deirdre served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1990 to 1995. At 25 years of age, she became one of the youngest commanding officers of a Coast Guard cutter and one of the few women at that time to hold the position. Deirdre was also involved in search-and-rescue efforts during the “perfect storm” of 1991, the notorious nor’easter that swept northward along the U.S. Atlantic coast and claimed 13 lives.

27. Tara Rudnicki
President, Tobii Dynavox

Tara Rudnicki is an advocate and champion for the rights of people with disabilities. With over 20 years of leadership in assistive technology, special education and accessibility, she has been critical in expanding education and access to these life-changing technologies. A highly visible name in the assistive technology, Rudnicki has extensive knowledge and expertise that has allowed her to serve the collective needs of those with disabilities and allow them to live fuller, more independent lives. Rudnicki spearheaded an industry and community coalition to expand federal healthcare coverage for Speech Generating Devices for those with communication and mobility impairments. In addition to her current role of North American President of Tobii Dynavox, Rudnicki has been elected President of the Assistive Technology Industry Association (ATIA), where she has served 10 years on the executive committee, working collaboratively with the industry to expand education and best practices.

Rudnicki led Tobii ATI, the North American division of Tobii’s assistive technology business. She began her career as a bookkeeper to eventually rise to the president of the company and lead the acquisition of the company to Tobii in 2008. Tobii, the global leader in eye tracking, brought its groundbreaking eye tracking technology to assistive technology to greatly expand the access to AAC devices. In 2014, she led the acquisition of Dynavox, the industry’s largest supplier, merging the companies to become Tobii Dynavox. Rudnicki oversees the North American market to include the education division, online sales, funding,customer service, and marketing.

29. Anitha Gopalan
Chief Financial Officer, Fireblocks

Anitha Gopalan is the Chief Financial Officer of Fireblocks. She first joined the company in 2021. Fireblocks is for institutions that need to store and move digital assets without the operational or security headache. Gopalan is an accomplished and high-performing finance executive with over 20 years of demonstrated leadership and finance expertise working at technology and healthcare companies like Rhapsody, Catalant Technologies, Rapid7, iPass, as well as big four accounting firm, Ernst & Young. Along with a strong passion for driving change and enabling growth, she is known for delivering mission-critical results, building strong teams, building-up and running new functions, and partnering with executive teams to drive change, scale operations, and support growth.

Previously, Gopalan served as the CFO at Rhapsody and Catalant, and was a VP of finance and controller of Rapid7 where she is responsible for all financial operations that support the company’s globally expanding business and led and was instrumental in executing the company’s IPO and helped drive the company’s rapid global growth. Prior to that, she was with publicly traded iPass, a cloud-based mobility management company and earlier to that was at Ernst & Young where she has extensive experience in technology, media and telecommunications companies from private to multi-national public. Gopalan earned an undergraduate degree in commerce, accounting and finance from Bangalore University.

30. Laura Henderson
VP of Insurance Portfolio Management, SIAA, Inc.

Laura Henderson serves as the VP of Insurance Portfolio Management for SIAA, Inc. Henderson joined SIAA in 2015. Established in 1995, SIAA (Strategic Insurance Agency Alliance) has evolved into the largest alliance of independent insurance agencies in the country.
With a robust background in insurance, Henderson is responsible for profitability standards throughout the SIAA marketplace. She works in concert with strategic partner carriers to monitor results and identify trends to improve profitability. Henderson brings a wide array of industry experience to her position including her deep understanding of risk management, analytics, strategic operations, and profitability metrics.

In her spare time, Henderson is a part-time adjunct professor at Cambridge College, Boston, MA where she teaches HR management, strategic organization, and other business management courses. She is the current and past Co-Director of the Essex/Middlesex Chapter of the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Women (MAIW). She was named the 2021“Member of Year” - recognized for her tireless leadership, dedication, and mentorship.
Henderson earned her undergraduate degree in business management in 2014, and her MBA from Cambridge College in 2016 where she proudly serves on the alumni council. She recently completed the Yale Women’s Executive Leadership Program and earned her CPIA designation from the American Insurance Marketing and Sales Society.

31. Katrina Campanale
VP of Sales & Business Development, Her Campus Media

Katrina Campanale is the Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Her Campus Media, the leading media portfolio for college women and Gen Z. In her role, Campanale leads the national sales and business development team to establish meaningful marketing partnerships with brands such as Sephora, PayPal, HBO Max, Dior, Target, JPMorgan Chase, Microsoft, and more. At Her Campus, she not only develops the careers of her team but also builds marketing campaigns that deliver on the company’s mission of advancing and empowering young women.

Campanale has led her team to sell award-winning marketing campaigns, with recognitions in 2021 from Adweek’s Performance Marketing Campaign of the Year and Fast Company’s Most Innovative Company Award. Her greatest accomplishment to date was becoming a working mom in 2022 and showing her daughter firsthand that women can do it all. Prior to joining Her Campus Media nearly six years ago, Campanale was the co-founder of Women’s iLab, a social impact organization focused on building and connecting career-minded women, and director of sales and strategy at Visible Measures, an ad tech company based out of Boston.

32. April Naturale, PhD
AVP of Crisis and Wellness Programs, Vibrant Emotional Health

Dr. Naturale is the Assistant Vice President for Crisis and Wellness programs for Vibrant Emotional Health, where she oversees the Veterans Crisis Line, the National Disaster Distress Helpline, the Crisis Emotional Care Team and the Lifeline Cares Team. She has recently been appointed to the U.S. Department of Justice team of nine subject matter experts to aid in a review of the law enforcement response to the Uvalde, Texas, elementary school shooting. Dr. Naturale is a traumatic stress specialist with an extensive history as a health/mental health care administrator and clinician specializing in responses to traumatic events. Her dissertation focused on Secondary Traumatic Stress in disaster responders, a subject she continues to study. Dr. Naturale led Project Liberty, the NY mental health response to the 9/11 World Trade Center disaster and later served as the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Disaster Technical Assistance Center Project Director. Dr. Naturale was the architect of and helped implement the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing behavioral health response.

In 2004, Dr. Naturale helped launch the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and in 2011, the Disaster Distress Helpline. Over the past 20 years she has provided disaster and traumatic stress response training and consultation throughout the U.S. and internationally. From 2013-2020, Dr. Naturale has worked with the Dept of Justice/Office for Victims of Crime as a program and needs assessment consultant for the San Bernardino terror attack, the Las Vegas Harvest Festival, Pulse Nightclub, Parkland, Thousand Oaks, Pittsburgh Tree of Life, Poway Synagogue, Virginia Beach, El Paso and Highland Ranch shooting incidents and the TN Christmas Day bombing. She has trained Psychologists in the Ukraine Military Service, Humanitarian Aid workers for the European Union and recently helped launch the new European Centre of Expertise for Victims of Terrorism.

Earlier in her career she worked with Johnson & Johnson as a director of HR and manager of OE. Henderson graduated from The New School's Milano School with an MS in urban policy analysis and management and from Bates College with an undergraduate degree in political science and African American studies.

35. Elif Eracar

Lauren Morton is currently the Vice President of Revenue Operations at Science Exchange. 47. Coleen Elstermeyer
Deputy Executive Director, Massachusetts Health Policy Commission

Coleen Elstermeyer serves as the Deputy Executive Director of the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission (HPC). The HPC is a first-in-the-nation independent state government agency charged with bending the health care cost curve and providing data-driven policy recommendations regarding health care delivery and payment system reform. The HPC is an independent state agency that develops policy to reduce health care cost growth and improve the quality of patient care. The HPC’s mission is to advance a more transparent, accountable, and equitable health care system through its independent policy leadership and innovative investment programs. The HPC’s goal is better health and better care at a lower cost for all residents across the Commonwealth.

In 2012, Elstermeyer became the HPC’s first chief of staff, and in 2016 the first deputy executive director, leading the HPC through its growth into a nationally recognized leader in landmark health policy and health care reform efforts. In this role, Elstermeyer oversees the HPC’s management team, staff, internal operations, and external affairs, while providing experienced leadership and guidance on health policy and strategy. She directly manages across several functional areas within the agency, including media, public, legislative, intergovernmental, and stakeholder relations, and agency operations, human resources, fiscal management, special projects, and public events. Prior to her role at the HPC, Elstermeyer served as Chief of Staff to Majority Leader and State Representative Ronald Mariano, where she oversaw the Leader’s staff, policy and legislative agenda, and communications strategy. Through this position she was point person for the Leader on major health care reform legislation, including Chapter 224 of the Acts of 2012, the landmark health care cost containment law that established the HPC. Elstermeyer is a graduate of Boston College and holds a master’s degree in public policy from King’s College London, University of London.
