Kristin Peck has always been an animal lover. Growing up in New York and Connecticut, she had four dogs, two cats, several birds, horses, and a father who took her across the country as a professional rodeo producer. Now, she is the Chief Executive Officer of Zoetis, the Fortune 500 company that is leading the world in animal healthcare. It has facilities on every continent and in 45 countries.

Zoetis, a spinoff of Pfizer that was started in 2013, has positioned itself as more than just an animal healthcare company. Peck, who has been on board since the beginning, is ensuring it’s a sustainable enterprise built for today and the future.

“When I think about the company, I think we serve a social purpose: To bring companionship to people and to create a safe and affordable food supply,” she said in an interview. “And the way we do that is through creating medicines, vaccines, diagnostics, devices, nutritional items for pretty much every species of animal other than humans, although we actually now do human products as well.”

Peck became known for her leadership skills when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020. At that time, she had only been CEO for three months. Her priorities became the safety of her employees, ensuring customers still received their products with no lapse in the supply chain, and continuing to advance its digital capabilities, all while orchestrating its largest-ever product launch. Her efforts did not go unnoticed, and Fortune named her one of its 20 Top Businesspersons of the Year for 2020.

Peck has a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and an MBA from Columbia University. Prior to taking the helm at Zoetis, she was EVP and Group President of U.S. Operations, Business Development, and Strategy at Zoetis.

Before joining Zoetis, she served as EVP of Worldwide Business Development and Innovation at Pfizer Incorporated and as a member of Pfizer's Executive Leadership Team.

Peck is also on the board of BlackRock (the world’s largest asset management firm), is a member of the Business Roundtable, and is a board member of Catalyst, a global non-profit that creates opportunities for women and other underrepresented groups.
