Pinterest's primary goal is to make everything on the platform shoppable. For example, it launched an API for Shopping in July 2022, enabling merchants to create engaging shopping experiences for users. The company has also introduced a Shop tab, integrated throughout the Pinterest experience, allowing businesses to display all their shoppable products. During its latest earnings call, Ready revealed that the company is exploring ways to make videos shoppable.

Moreover, the company is currently testing the integration of Shuffles collage content into Pinterest, starting with shopping. Ellis will be responsible for driving this initiative by integrating the shopping experience into the home feed and search function. The company has reiterated its commitment to making pins shoppable, and Ellis is expected to accelerate this goal.

Ellis expressed her excitement about joining the team, citing Pinterest's ability to turn real-life dreams into real-world action. She is passionate about enhancing users' lives and fostering positivity, and she believes Pinterest is an ideal platform to pursue this goal.

With 450 million monthly active users worldwide as of February, Pinterest's decision to hire Sabrina Ellis as its new Chief Product Officer reflects its commitment to continue expanding and improving its users' experience while keeping up with competitors in the social media space.
