In early 2022, after working together for nearly a decade, Lindsay Fitzgerald, Dana Eli-Lorch, and Julia Huange, all former managing directors of Amex Ventures, branched out to form their own fintech-focused venture firm, Vesey Ventures. Their new company is a fintech venture fund specializing in transformative early-stage companies in fintech, commerce, and enabling infrastructure.

The founders all agreed on one thing when starting the new firm: startups with better business development strategies had better outcomes. The trio’s goal was to take their 10 years of experience investing through the venture capital arm of one of the world’s largest credit card companies and apply it directly to new early-stage investments — but with a twist. The firm’s intention is to go beyond term sheets to issuing custom-made “Strategy Sheets,” showcasing how Vesey Ventures aims to leverage its network “to act as a company’s first business development team.” Basically, it wants to invest in early-stage fintech and enabling technology companies “where opportunities for early partnerships with financial incumbents exist.”
