Martin's journey began in Smithtown, New York, where she grew up under the influence of her electrical engineer father. She graduated from Manhattan College in 1998, armed with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Finance. Her initial foray into the professional world led her to IBM, where she honed her programming skills. This marked the beginning of her illustrious career, but Martin's thirst for knowledge led her to pursue a Master's in Statistics from Columbia University, setting the stage for her future achievements.

Martin's career took an exciting turn when she joined the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange in 2001. Her expertise in technology and statistics soon found a perfect match in the world of financial markets. This was just the beginning. As she later moved to the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), Martin played pivotal roles in various capacities, including as President of ICE Data Services and Chief Operating Officer of ICE Clear U.S.

At ICE, Martin is entrusted with the leadership of Fixed Income & Data Services, a critical segment encompassing fixed-income execution venues, securities pricing and analytics, reference data, indices, desktop solutions, aggregated feeds, and connectivity services across asset classes. Her strategic vision and relentless pursuit of excellence have made her an indispensable asset to ICE and the wider financial community.

In December 2021, Martin assumed the role of the 68th President of the New York Stock Exchange, taking the reins of the world's largest stock market and a cornerstone of global finance. Her appointment was not just a testament to her exceptional leadership but also a historic moment, as she succeeded Stacey Cunningham, another trailblazing woman in finance.

Martin's commitment to education and community service is equally noteworthy. She serves on the boards of the Partnership for New York City and the Inner-City Scholarship Fund, exemplifying her dedication to giving back and fostering growth in her community.
