Ghiawadwala's strategic prowess came to the fore in 2022, a year that saw inflation, rising interest rates, and rising expenses. Her team provided tailored solutions to 14,000 enterprise organizations, exemplifying her commitment to delivering the right solution at the right time.

One of her crowning achievements has been the expansion of CCB's global network banking. By connecting growth-oriented enterprises with the expansive capabilities of Citi's worldwide network, she has opened up a world of opportunities for CCB clients in all 95 markets, a service previously limited to select regions.

Under her leadership, CitiDirect commercial banking was launched, offering clients a comprehensive online dashboard. This platform provides access to a myriad of complex offerings, including FX, derivatives, trade, Treasury products, lending, and investment banking. Its success is evident, with 80% of U.S. clients already utilizing it as of August.

Beyond her professional achievements, Ghiawadwala is a staunch advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the banking industry. She believes in providing women from all walks of life with access to the field, not just Ivy League graduates. Moreover, she emphasizes the need to support women in maintaining their upward trajectory, particularly after maternity leave, by ensuring they regain control of their portfolios.

As an immigrant to the UK from India in the 1970s, her personal journey imbues her leadership style with empathy and a global perspective. She resides in London with her husband and two daughters, one of whom is considering a career in banking, a testament to Ghiawadwala's enduring influence.

In addition to her professional commitments, she serves on the board of Developments in Literacy UK, a nonprofit dedicated to providing quality education to Pakistani children, with a special focus on girls in remote areas.

Ghiawadwala's leadership philosophy, centered on client needs and DEI advocacy, has not only propelled CCB to new heights but also set a powerful example for the global banking industry. Her legacy serves as an inspiration for leaders striving to make a meaningful impact in their respective fields.
