Sarah Jessica Parker is a successful actress, television producer, and entrepreneur. Her impressive acting career spans over 40 years and includes more than a dozen movies. Parker debuted on Broadway in the 1976 revival of “The Innocents” and then went on to star in the title role of the Broadway musical “Annie” in 1979. Appearing on the list of her critically acclaimed and commercially successful films are “Footloose,” “Hocus Pocus,” “Ed Wood,” and “The First Wives Club.”
However, Parker’s most recognizable role is the iconic Carrie Bradshaw from the hit HBO series “Sex and the City.” Her portrayal of Carrie as a columnist and fashionista narrating the lives of her tight-knit group of friends living in New York City and navigating the trials and tribulations of their relationships has been recognized as one of the greatest female characters in American television. She continued the titular role in two films, “Sex and the City” and “Sex and the City 2,” and most recently in a revival called “And Just Like That.” “Sex and the City” popularity was followed by critical successes. Parker received two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards.
In addition to her prolific screen career, Parker has also enjoyed success as a businesswoman. 2005 saw the launch of her own line of fragrances that went on to include six different perfumes. Her fashion line Bitten was released in 2007 in partnership with the clothing chain Steve & Barry’s and included affordable fashion and accessories. In 2009, Parker founded her own production company, Pretty Matches, which is run by an all-female staff and has produced television and film for HBO. In 2014 she released her footwear line, SJP Collection, which now has nine boutiques in New York, Las Vegas, Dubai, and Canada, with international retailers around the world.
Her latest endeavor is a 2019 collaboration with New Zealand Winery Invivo & Co to produce a range of wines. Each year they produce the award-winning Invivo x Sarah Jessica Parker Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand and the Invivo x Sarah Jessica Parker Rosé from Provence.
